Well, just 20 minutes left in the first half of 2018.  As bad as the first half was, the second half couldn't be any worse.  Let's hope for better days ahead.  God willing.
Tonight I watched "The Last Jedi" on Netflix and I'm sad to say it didn't improve any on the second viewing.  Just a dreadful film.  I surely hope episode IX rescues this trilogy because it is in a bad place now.

Brilliant science fiction writer Harlan Ellison has died at the age of 84.  He wrote stories for many of the greatest sci-fi TV shows and wrote many other short stories.  A literary giant.  His kind we may never see again.  Here he is pictured with Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner.

But before I go, the Phils beat the Nats 4-3 tonight at the Bank to close to 2 games behind the division-leading Braves.  Aaron Nola was dominant again and despite the bullpen almost blowing another one, it was a nice win.  Only 2 games out at the end of June.  Better than I could have hoped.  BUT, there is still a lot of work to be done!
It was nice being off this week.  Very relaxing and I got a lot of stuff done.  Time to hit the sack.  Good night all.  Sweet dreams.
That was some storm early this morning.  It probably woke up a lot of people.  The humidity has really been building and I had to close the windows and put the AC back on.  It was nice while it lasted.  The next few days are really going to be hot -- perfect weather for taking a walk in the park.  Here I go!!  😄😃😃😃

I visited the famous fountain today at the Plymouth Meeting Mall, just as I did when I was a little kid.  I hope this thing lasts forever.  It's important to keep alive some parts of your childhood.

I went to the cemetary today to see my father.  Last Saturday was the 24th anniversary of his passing.  Seems like only yesterday.
I guess if you are going to spend all morning at the repair shop, it's good that the weather is nice.  And the weather today is spectacular.  Low humidity with temps in the mid 70's and brilliant sunshine.  A perfect summer day!
I swear cars are on this earth to keep us broke.  My SUV failed emission and to get it to pass, a sensor and a solenoid had to be replaced.  With all the labor, it cost $810.  And I still have to replace the power steering pump, which is another $800.  Unreal.  It should not cost this much for parts and labor.  Just doesn't seem fair.
Well, I'm back to my iPhone 7 Plus and my third generation Apple Watch.  I was using my Pixel 2 XL and my Huawei Watch but I got bored with them (which happens to me a lot) so I switched over, at least for now.  Either pairing is very good and offer very different ways to get things done.  And even though the Pixel 2 XL contains the best battery on the Android market, it still can't compete with the iPhone battery.  The Apple Watch is FAR superior to the Huawei battery.  It seems like I want to give up on Apple products but in the end always realize that they do everything the best.
